Travelled out to Colorado & New Mexico this Fall and will add some pictures to several albums as I get them processed. The albums will be Colorado (Travel), Rocky Mountain Ntl Park, Great Sand Dunes Ntl Park, & Mesa Verde National Park (all under National Parks) and Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta (under Events). It was a great trip and the Aspen were in peak color most of the time I was there.

Rebel Run 2010

Spent some time yesterday at the 2010 Rebel Run at the fairgrounds. It is always enjoyable to see the various cars displayed. I used the new 28-300 Nikon zoom for all the pictures. Most were taken handheld although I used my tripod on a few. Lens is fairly heavy, but it seems to do a good job. It will be a good travel lens due to the wide focal length and VR feature.

J. Watson's sail boat

Added a few pictures of the return of Jessica Watson to the Sydney Harbor. Put them in the Australia album.

I've upgraded my home pc to a 64byte unit and also upgraded to PS CS5 and Lightroom 3. Need to get an upgrade for one of the plug-ins I was using, but overall it was a "pleasant" experience. Read some resent articles on black & white conversion so I plan to use the new software and take some photos and convert them to b&w and post a few. The one here I call taking flight...

Jessica Watson's return to Sydney

We happened to be in Sydney when Jessica Watson returned from her sail around the world. A big crowd showed up at the Sydney Opera House where she landed. I was able to get a few pictures, but no great ones. I'll probably add a few more to another album

Above is a photo of the inside of the Opera House in Sydney, Australia. I recently travelled to New Zealand and Australia and will be adding images from both places as I get them processed. The trip was great except for too much rain in the NZ South Island that lead to us missing Milford Sound. A bridge and road problems were the issue. Much of the glacier area was socked in with rain and clouds, so no great landscapes there. Overall, it was a great trip...good food and wine, interesting people and places!

Michigan UP Photo Workshop

I spent some time in early October at a workshop up near Munising, Michigan. The Fall color was late this year and the weather was overcast, but we still got some nice images in the area. Some along the Pictured Rocks National Seashore and others near lakes in the Hiawatha National Forest. A nice area for Fall color. Check out Lake Effect Photographic Adventures on the internet for more information about their various workshops. I placed an album under National Parks of images.

Great Smoky Mountain Fall Photo Workshop

I had the opportunity to attend the Fall workshop at the Smoky Mountain Institute at Tremont and enjoyed it greatly. The foggy weather kept us from getting good sunrise & sunset images, but we took many Fall color water reflections and old cabin photos. There were seven instructors available and they covered many topics. Check out the website...they have a Fall & Spring workshop.
